Last week, I shared affordable wedding dress options for all the beautiful brides-to-be. Today, it's all about the groom. I'm sharing 10 personal touches that can enhance your wedding day style. The first four are most impactful to your overall wedding aesthetics, considering they complement the bridal party. 
1. Pocket Boutonniere:
The pocket boutonniere is a modern twist on a classic wedding staple. Unlike standard boutonnieres, they often have a wider variety of flowers due to the way they are structured. I've also seen other embellishments, such as crystals and geodes, added for a more unique flare. Be mindful of your proportions when choosing a design to ensure a balanced, streamlined look.

​2. Pocket Square:
Obviously, if you take the pocket boutonniere route, this will be hidden. But should you choose a standard boutonniere or none at all, a personalized pocket square adds a nice touch. It is a perfect way to incorporate a borrowed item with sentimental value. Pocket squares can also be personalized to memorialize a loved one who has passed on. 

3. Shoes:
From custom-designer kicks to worn-in Western boots, footwear is a perfect way to show off your style. While you should still consider the overall aesthetics of your wedding, there is a bit more freedom to stand out.  Take things up a notch by doing a shoe change for the reception, and be sure to have your photographer capture your fashion moments as well. 

​4. Socks:
Since socks aren't as visible, this is a perfect way to incorporate something personal. In addition to prints and patterns, sentimental messages can be embroidered onto your socks. These work great for photo ops and keepsakes to cherish for years to come.

5. Jewelry:
Jewelry offers an abundance of versatility when it comes to personal style. From different designs to the types of pieces that you choose, there's plenty of room to get creative. I especially like vintage pieces for weddings since they often come with rich stories and sentiments attached.  

6. Cufflinks:
​Cufflinks are pretty straightforward. From initial monograms to unique natural stones, there are options for everyone's style. While not as impactful, they make your overall look more polished. Consider button-cover cufflinks if you are wearing a standard button-down shirt.

7. Timepiece:
Timepieces provide another opportunity for a borrowed or passed-down memento. Grooms often receive a pocket or wristwatch from a father figure or prominent man in their life. Also, many partners will gift their future hubbies with an engraved timepiece. Either way, this item has the potential to provide great sentiment. 

8. Cologne:
While cologne isn't visual, it still impacts your wedding day style. Be sure to choose a fragrance that compliments your body chemistry without being over-powerful. Take the time to sample a few different scents and sit with them before making your final purchase.  The sense of smell triggers memories, so don't overlook it on your special day. 

9. Fresh Ink:
A thoughtful tattoo is such a unique personal touch for your wedding day. Whether it be a couple's tatt or a design that honors your union, it's an intimate memento you'll carry forever. For an added layer of fun, consider keeping your fresh ink hidden and surprise your partner with it at the end of the night.

​10. Hair/Grooming:
We all know that your hair is an integral part of any look, and your wedding day is no exception. Give yourself several months to choose a style that suits your vision.  Don't neglect your facial hair and skincare routine. Consider hiring a (well-vetted) mobile barber/stylist for day-of service for the freshest look.

New year, new Pantone color! Mocha Mousse is Pantone's Color of The Year for 2025, and I'm obsessed. As a neutral hue, this color is extremely versatile and pairs well with others. From makeup to tablescapes, I believe we'll be seeing this one all over the wedding scene. Read on to learn how I'd incorporate the color and how you can use it for your wedding day. 

Floral Pairings:
Mocha Mousse is a neutral color perfect for floral arrangements. In addition to foliage and filler, there are plenty of flower options in similar shades. Roses are amongst the most accessible and come in a variety of natural colors in the Mocha Mousse family. Quicksand, Sahara, Moab, Toffee, and Amnesia are some of my favorites. I would embrace the current trends and incorporate bold colors into the arrangements. This will make your floral designs feel more fresh and modern. Check the swatch palettes above for some sample pairings. 

Beauty Looks:
The versatility of Mocha Mousse is evident in the world of beauty. From flawlessly barefaced to bold, sultry looks, there are many ways to incorporate this color.  My tip here is to choose the look that makes you feel most confident. Work with your MUA to create at least 2 different looks. One look should be a more professional version of what you're used to. The second should push you out of your comfort zone a bit. Sit with both looks and see how each one makes you feel. 

Tablescapes & Furnishings:
In addition to the wedding florals, furnishings and rentals are a great way to showcase color. Since Mocha Mousse is a neutral color, rentals are easily accessible and provide a warm background that accentuates varying styles. I would incorporate a mix of materials in Mocha Mousse, from glass and ceramics to velvet and leather. The variety of textures will provide depth and add visual interest to the event space.  

Bridal Fashions:
One of the most simple yet impactful ways to introduce Mocha Mousse is in the wedding wardrobe. The bridal party is on full display during the ceremony and the reception, so choose shades in the Mocha Mousse family that complement your skin tones. For a fresh look, have the groom/smen wear Mocha Mousse, a neutral color, and have the bridesmaids wear a bolder color. This selection will also go a long way in facilitating cost per wear. 

Decadent Desserts:
Last but certainly not least, bring in some actual mocha treats. With desserts, it goes beyond the stunning color, you also get the amazing flavor. If mocha isn't your cup of cocoa, opt for salted caramel, dulce de leche, coffee creme, etc. I would incorporate multiple flavors by having a dessert bar instead of just a wedding cake. I love the idea of guests having a variety of goodies to sample and indulge. You can include options like macarons, cheesecakes, pastries, cookies, and mocha mousse, of course!

It's amazing how impactful freezing fresh herbs, fruit, and edible flowers in water can be.

​Living plants and petite floral arrangements make great garden party favors. Not only will they make the event look beautiful, your guests will enjoy a gift they can actually use. Take things up a notch by creating an on-site flower shop, allowing your guests to create their own bouquets, and floral accessories.
